Weight Lifting to Lose Weight
If you’re looking to lose weight quickly, cardio workouts are not enough. You need weight lifting to lose weight too. In this site I’ve included my favorite exercises to lose weight quickly, many involve weight lifting.
The more weight lifting you do, the faster you will lose weight
Why? There have been many studies that show how adding muscle burns fat even while you’re not working out.
You can see how important it is to build muscle. Muscle burns three times as many calories than fat tissue.
Weight lifting is important to losing weight. And women should not be afraid to lift weights! Do not worry about getting big or bulky muscles, because it just won’t happen unless you are a serious weight lifter.
Men, on the other hand typically do not get enough cardio and focus more on weight lifting.
That’s why I have my favorite exercises to lose weight quickly…incorporate these into your workouts and you’ll strike a good balance to both cardio and weight lifting/muscle building.
The most effective use of weight lifting? Make it a cardio workout too!
What I have done in the past few years is incorporate traditional weight lifting exercises and do them back to back, in quick succession for a great cardio workout.
Squats 3-5 Sets with light to moderate weight, barbell or dumbells.
Bench Press 3-5 Sets with light to moderate weight, barbell or dumbells.
Pull-Ups or Rows 3-5 Sets with light to moderate weight for the rows (barbell or dumbell).
DO NOT REST in between sets for an unbelievable cardio/weight lifting workout.
Best Foods To Lose Weight
The best foods to lose weight is simple. It’s so simple you learned it when you & we’re a kid: you are what you eat. If you’re wondering what’s the best foods to lose weight, that’s all you need to remember.
The bottom line is if you eat like crap, you’ll look and feel like crap. If you eat healthily you’ll look and feel healthy. Imagine feeling healthy, muscular, toned, flexible, and confident. It’s possible if you eat healthily, keep it simple, and just remember you are what you eat.
Here’s A List Of The Foods I Typically Eat To Stay Healthy And Keep The Weight of…
- Bell peppers
- Peanut butter
Every day I eat most, if not all the foods on this list. They are truly the best foods to lose weight. Since they are such a staple of my diet, I have trouble gaining weight!
I’m a big advocate of the paleo diet and high protein low carb diets. So if you’re ever doubting what to eat always remember protein and vegetables are good, carbs like loaves of bread and pasta are bad.
My Daily Diet
A typical day will go something like this…
I eat a peanut butter sandwich for breakfast. Peanut butter, although not a true paleo diet food, has a good amount of protein and healthy fats to keep me satisfied for a few hours.
I’ll snack on some vegetables or protein bar mid-morning.
For lunch, I’ll eat a salad packed with most of the foods on my list above, or just a chicken breast and vegetables.
For an afternoon snack, I’ll eat another protein bar and have some chicken, fish, turkey sandwich, or another rich source of protein for dinner with some vegetables.
The More You Incorporate Healthy Food Into Your Diet, The More You Can Cheat
If you incorporate a large number of healthy foods into your diet, it makes the enjoyment of “unhealthy” foods much more enjoyable. You’ll still be able to eat fast food, drink alcohol, and eat dessert more often than you think.
I have trouble gaining weight, yet I still eat pizza, fast food, and drink alcohol all at least once a week because all the other times I eat, its always healthy foods.
The amount of time I eat healthy almost seems to override the bad food I eat, so this allows me to stay lean yet still enjoy bad foods when the time comes.
So always try to incorporate healthy food into your diet as much as possible. Not only will they help you lose weight, but it will make it possible to eat unhealthy foods guilt-free, and maybe even make it difficult for you to gain weight!
